How To Tighten Loose Skin

A beautiful and fit body calls for a glowing fit skin. But no matter how much glow your face radiates (and contributes to electricity bill saving at your house), if your skin is loose, the entire glow and look of the skin would just melt away and fail to make an impression. And this phenomenon becomes particularly annoying when your body is not loosening because of age, but because of extreme weight loss and other such factors.

How To Tighten Loose Skin

In such cases, you are reduced to sitting and mulling that all that exercise and diet control that you did to get in shape hasn’t really paid off as you had expected. And though all the weight is gone, the signs that you were once fat have stayed back. It may also happen as a post-pregnancy phenomenon and this is known to be a major cause of depression among women. But all this does not have to be that way. If you can lose all that fat from your body, then you can also defeat those nasty skin folds. All you need is a little patience, determination and some good advice. While you have got to work on the first two yourself, here are some handy tips and advice that would help you tighten loose skin.

Facial Skin
  • Ice water is a natural anti-aging agent. Wash your face with ice-cold water at least 4-5 times a day to tighten your loose skin.
  • Exercise your facial muscles regularly. If you wish to rid yourself of chubby cheeks, then follow this exercise. Smile as wide as you can. Make it more of a grin, until you feel the stretch in your cheek muscles. Now hold out your index, middle and ring fingers of both hands near your cheeks and push them against your cheeks with as much force as you can muster.

  • Another exercise that works wonders with the cheek flab is the fish mouth exercise. Close your mouth and suck in both your cheeks to the maximum possible extent. Do this over and over again and you will surely get rid of those chubby cheeks.
  • Double chin is another problem area with respect to loosened skin. Close your mouth and tilt your head back so that you face the ceiling. Now make chewing motions with your closed mouth and move your chin up and down. Do this about 100 times a day.
  • Looking for tightening up skin around your jaw and neck so that you have a visible jaw line? Who doesn't? Close your mouth. Keep you lips nice and tight. Push your jaw and chin toward your lips over and over again. Do not do this in a chewing motion. Do not move your mouth or lips at all. Just your chin and jaw need to be moved.
  • Loose Abdominal Skin
  • Swimming is a blessing in disguise for people who intend to lose abdominal skin folds fast.
  • Exercises of all sorts may not be equally beneficial for this purpose. Hence, focus on the more rigorous exercises like sit ups, push-ups and running.
  • Stomach crunches are again the most effective and fastest way of getting rid of stomach folds. It also builds the flexibility and prominence of the abs.
  • The simplest way of course is to keep your stomach muscles tightened throughout the day. Make sure you suck in your stomach when you are driving or watching TV or even working in your office.
General Tips

The most effective way to lose overall body skin folds is to stay hydrated. Drink approximately 8 glasses of cold water a day. It will not only tighten your skin but also flush out toxins from your body.

Switch to Vitamin E and Virgin Coconut Oil. They have a tremendous effect on skin and the tightening of the entire body. Eat about 3 tablespoons of Virgin coconut oil a day.

Massaging is another method people swear by. It helps the skin in rebuilding its elasticity. For best results you can use mustard oil.

Symptoms of Eczema (Dermatitis)

Thickening
The skin of eczema that have been inflamed for a while is usually much thicker than the unaffected skin. Mainly this occurs as a protective response of the skin to the repeated trauma of scratching. Eczema often affects the skin in areas around joints such as the elbows, behind the knees and in front of the ankles (the ‘flexures’) where the skin also needs to be particularly flexible. Commonly one will see splits in the skin here (fissures), as the thickened skin is unable to bend as it would normally.

Blisters
This contributes to scaling and makes it easier for skin bacteria to get into the deeper layers, between the gaps. It also makes it possible for tissue fluids to ooze between the cells , and, if sufficient, to gather into collections or blisters. Small blisters may be seen in active eczema but occasionally large ones may occur, either due to the particular nature of the eczema, or because of skin infection coming along as well when the blisters may be filled not only with clear fluid but also with pus.

Redness
Increase redness of the skin may cause many problems. In eczema, it is quite common. The very top layer of skin has low blood supply, thus, creates dryness.. resulting in redness.

Crusts
The fluid that oozes out from the skin often dries up and settles as a thick layer. So, forms a thick and dry crust on the top layer of the skin.

Itching
Itching is usually the primary symptom that is present when you have eczema and gets more difficult at night. It often turns into an irritating condition.
Eczema's symptoms are basically easy to detect, but, should be treated well so that they do not give rise to any other sub chain of skin inflammatory diseases. At times, the situation becomes very uneasy to handle as you may feel discomfort in  doing itching while standing in public areas.

However, laser surgery is the best choice of most of the people thought it is quite expensive, as it helps in the treatment of acne scars as well. Laser treatments help in effectively destroying the bacteria by the emission of light.

But the effectiveness of the treatment depends on certain factors, including the expertise of the dermatologist. Laser treatments may be classified into two types namely, ablative and non ablative laser.

Ablative laser resurfacing involves removing the outer layer of the skin which helps in removing the scars and smoothening the skin as well. The heat that is produced during the process also helps in tightening the skin which makes the scar less visible. The non-ablative laser treatments use yellow pulse dye laser and smoothbeam laser. This process does not cause an injury to the epidermis unlike the ablative laser. This method relies on bringing about changes by heating the dermis.

Acne surgery though helps in the effective treatment of acne but it has certain side effects. Always wear light colored clothing as it would be less visible. Avoid wearing dark colored clothing, as it tends to absorb more heat and leads to perspiration.

Wear only loose clothing as this would allow the skin to breathe freely and will help in drying the sweat. Stick to cotton fabrics only and avoid fabrics such as silk, polyester etc. as this fabrics stick to the skin and does not allow the skin to breathe freely.

Using antiperspirant also helps in blocking the pores to sweat.
