As my husband used to say ‘I don’t believe that I snore’, so the amusing part is that the person who actually snores is unaware of the mess he/she is creating for the fellow sleeping partner. 1. Olive oil is the best home remedy to reduce snoring. Before sleeping just have a few drops of olive oil and it would help in reducing the sound of the snores. Gradually, one is able to get rid of this irritating habit.

2. One of the simplest ways is to change your sleeping position. Instead of sleeping on your back, sleep on your side.

3. If you are taking only one pillow and still people around you complain that you snore; then try two or three pillows as they would alleviate your head and would not block the airway.

4. Do check the type of mattresses one is using. Use of firm and flat is highly recommended to support the neck.

5. Breathing exercises help a lot in getting rid of this irritating sound. Exercise regularly as it would be helpful to your lungs as well as for increasing breathing capacity.

6. Quit or at least minimize the number of cigarettes and the consumption of alcohol.

7. In case of snoring due to allergic reactions, do consult your physician and get rid of allergies first.

8. Sleeping pills and Antihistamines tablets are strictly not recommended.

9. Use of Nasal Decongestant or Nasal Strips can also help in controlling snoring.

10. Keep a check on your diet especially before bedtime. In case of over weight, proper diet and nutritional food is a must to get rid of snoring naturally.
